Yellow Cat Petrified Wood Branch from the original yellow cat flats area. This piece has great fortification with white agate on one end and completely different on the other end.
 You don't see them like this too often, and rarely this size! Rare specimen to polish up or beautiful as is. It would be so tempting to cut in half to see what shows up.
 
Measurements are about:  1 3/4  inch x  1 1/4 inch and 4 inches tall, weighs 13 oz.
 
Yellow Cat Petrified Wood comes from Grand County, Utah found in the Brushy Basin Member in the Morrison Formation. This petrified wood is about 140 million years old from the Jurassic Time Period. Yellow Cat Petrified Wood is extremely rare and highly prized by wood and rare specimen collectors alike.  The limb casts from this area can be solid banded agate all the way through, banded agate with calcite or quartz centers but the majority are partial replacements with the banded agate mixed with permineralized wood to complete the casts. The agate colors range from red, orange, black and yellow.
